When you choose a diamond,

It’s my old memory and I’m going to talk with young people who are going to get married.

When you are going to buy an engagement ring, you usually choose a ring with diamond.

Do you know 3 parameters that indicate the spec. of the Diamond?

They are abbreviated with 3C because their 3 parameters are explained 3 words, each of whose alignment starts with the letter ‘C’.

They are ‘Carat’, ‘Cut’ and ‘Clarity’.
‘Carat’ indicates its size, to be exact, its weight (1 carat = 200mg = 4 grain).
‘Cut’ indicates its degree of being cut, in other word, appearance.
‘Clarity’ indicates its purity, the contents of trash which the diamond includes in itself.

Usually, people mention about ‘Carat’ when they talk about diamond. But please remember that ‘Carat’ don’t have so much contribution for how the diamond brighten up.

I think ‘Clarity’ is most important parameter for how better the diamond brighten up.

The ‘Clarity’ categorized in order from better to worse, FL(Flawless), IF(internally Flawless), VVS1, VVS2, VS1, and VS2(further worse, SI1, SI2, I1, I2, and I3 exist).

Usually, it’s very difficult for us to find FL or IF ones, because they are very rare. It will be the miraculous fruits of nature.

Even though you choose a ring of branded, for example Tiffany or Cartier,　its diamond won't brighten up unless its clarity is high.
